Elegain’s founder built and operated a brand around an overlooked OEM products — a brand that became the most visible and trusted in its category across the New Zealand market — reshaping not only the product itself, but the entire customer experience surrounding it. This elevated the standard of Chinese-made products in this segment to rival the clarity, refinement, and brand trust traditionally expected from long-established European manufacturers.

This transformation enabled the product to be positioned not only in Australasia, but globally, at up to ten times the retail price of typical low-cost, unbranded imports from China — generating significantly higher margins for both manufacturers and the distribution channel, while delivering an exceptional product that customers perceived as genuinely worth the price.

This was achieved by working directly with Chinese suppliers to enhance key elements such as product features, component quality, accessory design, packaging, and user experience — bridging the gap between factory capability and Western market expectations.
